Ideal fit

Who we work with.

Stage

Australian tech scale-ups

Typically 30–200 staff, where the People or Technology function needs more than a coordinator can deliver but doesn't yet justify a full-time executive hire.

Leadership

Engineering-led companies

Technical founders who understand systems thinking and want both their People and Technology practices built the same way — deliberate, measurable, and documented.

Trigger moment

At an inflection point

Preparing for international expansion, a fundraising milestone, a compliance audit like SOC2 or ISO27001, or the departure of a senior People or Technology leader — moments when getting it right compounds.

Fixed-fee engagements

Implementation Programs.

Fixed-fee engagements that deliver working systems — across two tracks. Pick the one that matches your trigger, or combine tracks where the problem sits between them.

All pricing in AUD ex GST. Discovery call required before quoting.

Not sure which track or program fits? A 30-minute discovery call is enough to figure it out.

Ongoing support

Advisory Services.

For ongoing support, fractional leadership, and reactive specialist work across both disciplines.

The approach

How we work.

01

Discovery first.

Every engagement starts with a 30-minute discovery call. If the path is clear, we send a fixed-price proposal. If not, a 1-week paid scoping ($3k) ends with a concrete plan and locked price.

02

Remote-first delivery.

Weekly synchronous touchpoint, async collaboration in between. We work with your existing tools — no consulting platform to learn.

03

Build, then leave.

Every program ends with documentation your team can run from. We don't create dependency.

04

Two clients at a time.

Capacity is deliberate. You get senior attention, not delegated work.

The people

About Molly Rowe.

Molly is a People & Culture leader with nearly a decade scaling People functions inside Australian tech companies. Most recently VP of People at RecordPoint (2022–2026), where she joined as Head of People & Culture in 2019 and built the People function across the company’s global operations — APAC, the USA, Canada, the UK, and Europe.

Outcomes during her seven-year tenure included a graduate program averaging 4+ year staff tenure, an 80%+ internal promotion rate at senior levels, 35%+ female engineering headcount, and the process automation that supports the company’s SOC2 compliance.

Before RecordPoint, Molly was a founding HR team member at Vibrato, growing the consultancy from 15 to 60 staff and establishing the Sydney region before the company was acquired by Servian in 2019. Earlier roles at IBM in cloud consulting and product management.

Currently completing a Masters of Law (Technology and IP) at UNSW.

Speaking credits include SXSW Sydney, PyCon, AWS, DevOps Days, and Transform.

The technology

About Chris Fowles.

Chris is a technology leader with nearly two decades across Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, cloud-native systems, and the organisational change that comes with them. At Metacosm he helps customers navigate the shifts reshaping technology delivery — AI adoption, data strategy, cloud, and DevOps/SRE.

Prior to founding Metacosm, he was Director of Technology at Plenti, Australia’s leading consumer fintech lender. There he established the data and AI practice, led the cloud platform strategy, and implemented the technology processes behind the company’s ISO 27001 certification.

Before Plenti, Chris was Head of Technology at Vibrato — the consultancy Molly helped grow — and spent over a decade at StarRez moving from technical support into systems administration and architecture where he designed and implemented thier initial cloud platform.

He has obtained architected and built production systems across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure and obtained professional certifications across all three clouds.

Speaking credits include Google Cloud Summit, Microsoft TechEd, AWS, Hashicorp, Databricks, Pagerduty, among others.

What's next.

Metacosm is a services-first practice today, with tooling on the roadmap. We're using every engagement — across both People and Technology — to learn what scale-ups actually need at the seam between the two, and building toward products that compound those learnings.
